Adult Activities

The Library offers a full range of services for our area residents through our Adult Services Department. Activities that are ongoing include: Wild and Wonderful Wednesdays, Book Clubs, Special Events, Writer's Group, Various Educational Classes, and Interlibrary Loan Services.  

 

Wild and Wonderful

Wednesday

A wide assortment of entertaining yet educational programs are held the third Wednesday of each month at noon. Programs range from local authors, entertainers, and special speakers to musical groups. Please check our calendar for the scheduled appearance this month. Adult Summer Reading Program

Registration started June 14, 2009 and will continue throughout the Summer. The finale program will be held on July 26, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. The program will feature Singer and Songwriter Ron Dometrovich.  The Library is pleased to offer two different book clubs for our area residents. One club only reads mystery books while the other club reads a diverse array of titles. If you would like to join a fun group of readers and discuss your opinion of the monthly selected title. Writer's Group

 

"THE PELL CITY PENS"

CREATIVE WRITING GROUP

  The group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  The group welcomes adult beginning and intermediate writers.  The purpose of the group is to encourage and instruct aspiring writers, to interview visiting authors, and to bring works to be criticized.  For a registration form, please come by the library. 

 

Classes

We offer many continuing education classes. Due to ongoing public usage of computers at the library, we offer classes on the Iola Roberts Elementary School campus: Beginning Personal Computing, Beginning Word, Beginning Internet, Beginning Power Point, Beginning Excel, Intermediate Word, and Troubleshooting.  Please check our calendar for upcoming classes. You must pre-register for our computer classes, so please contact the Library (884-1015) to register.
